How We Learn

Play is the work of young children. At York Avenue Day, children share their insights and perspectives of their daily lives by engaging in dynamic play scenarios. Our teachers observe, scaffold, and interact as partners in play.

Art class is a fun way for kids to grow

Create

Children practice processed-based art, which emphasizes the act of creating over the finished product. Children explore different materials, make messes, and expand their creativity, while engaging in open-ended projects.

Boys and girls love physical activities in our gym

Move

We all learn best when we are on the move. This is especially true for children. Our classrooms are designed to encourage students to use their bodies in creative and purposeful ways.
