The head teachers at York Avenue Preschool are certified early childhood educators. They have solid teaching experience at the Early Childhood level; hold Master’s degrees in Early Childhood Education and traditional advanced degrees. The head teachers’ team teach with assistant teachers trained in early childhood education. Our entire staff is trained in C.P.R. and First Aid.Our teachers attend workshops through the Association of Teachers in Independent Schools (A.T.I.S.) and other professional development throughout the year.Along with our regular curriculum, we offer our students specials such as music, art, gymnastics and French as part of the curriculum. Our specialty teachers bring their years of experience and degrees to each subject. Where else would you find a French chef in the kitchen and an Art teacher with her Master's Degree! Our gymnastics coaches are USA Gymnastics certified which ensures safety in a fun filled environment. |

York Avenue Preschool creates an atmosphere that fosters friendships between our families. Our Parents’ Association has many events through the year which depend on parents to volunteer their time and services. Watching our students grow and blossom is one of the great joys of teaching. Our responsibilities as educators are to prepare our children to leave the school with a love of learning. Confidence, ability to express themselves along with the knowledge of the alphabet and number correlations are all mastered in the Fours/Pre-K class. more>> |
