Admission
Thank you for your interest in the York Avenue Preschool. The following are instructions for applying online.
- Applications are available at 8:00 a.m. on September 6th, 2011 for the 2012-2013 school year. An Apply Button Now button will be available on that day only. Applications are limited.
- The application must be completed at the time of request and a $75.00 fee will be collected by credit card when you submit the application.
- To complete the application a family photo and a copy of your child's birth certificate must be sent to the admissions office. Please include a brief note sharing your thoughts about your child. All materials must be submitted no later than October 3rd, 2011.
- Once these items have been sent, please call the school, at (212) 734-0922 to confirm receipt and to set up a Parent tour.
- Both parents must attend the tour. Please see the list of dates under school visits. Please note the separate tours for prospective Two's and Three's parents.
- A child playgroup will be set up at the end of the parent tour. The play groups run from November through February. One parent must accompany the child to the playgroup. The play groups are approximately a half hour.
*Parents of siblings are not required to tour the school. However, it is necessary to schedule a child evaluation by phone.

Fees:
$50.00 per child for Younger Twos and Older Twos
$75.00 per child for Threes
$150.00 per child for Older Three's & Fours/Pre-K
Fees cover all transportation for field trips, cooking, supplies, special events in the class room and graduation for the Fours.
An application fee of $75.00 is required for each applicant.
School fees for the 2012-2013 school year will be established in December 2011.
*Dismissal will be extended once a week to include specialty classes.
School Tours
We look forward to welcoming you. All visits begin promptly at 9:15 a.m. with a tour of the facilities and a question and answer session with the Educational Director. Tours are from 9:15 a.m.-10:15 a.m. A sign up for the child playgroups will be available following the tour.
These tours are for prospective parents only. We have dedicated some tours just for our two's parents. (*Indicates Two's tour). This will allow us to spend more time on the separation process and two's curriculum. All other tours are for our three's and four's applicants.
We limit our tours to 14 people. Please call Nancy Baldaro, our Admissions Director, at (212)-734-0922 to reserve your place. All application materials must be submitted to the school before a tour is scheduled. We request both parents attend the tour. Since we do not require a follow up meeting with our Director, this is one of our opportunities to get to know your family.
