When my son began his Two’s year at York Avenue Preschool, he was a shy child who wanted little more than to play with his favorite thing, toy trains. However, by gentle coaxing his teachers managed to interest him in other things such as painting and drawing, arts and crafts, building with Legos and blocks and working on projects together with other children. This was a crucial step in my son’s early education that enabled him to take an active interest in learning more challenging subjects later on and thus proved invaluable as he progressed through the Three Year Old class and the Four Year Old class.
