| A SENSE OF PURPOSE
The mission of York Avenue Preschool is to provide children from diverse backgrounds with a comprehensive, balanced early childhood education in a safe and nurturing environment. Art, music, gym, movement, yoga, language and library are integrated into the curriculum weekly.
Our objective is to provide the young child with skills and competencies that create the foundation for future academic success. The curriculum is sequential providing structure for the young child to grow and develop in all skill areas. We use their innate curiosity and creativity to develop a knowledge base for them to build on in the future. Our exceptional teachers create a classroom environment that fosters engagement and a love of learning. Our children develop social skills and self confidence that enable them to be successful.
The fulfillment of our school’s mission would be incomplete without the involvement and participation of the parents. York Avenue Preschool welcomes our families to be partners in learning. Parents are involved in school functions, classroom celebrations, parent teacher conferences and Parent Association sponsored meetings and fundraisers. |
