| OUR FOURS
The Fours have a five day program. Their day begins at 8:50 a.m. and ends at 2:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, the Fours' day ends at noon.
The curriculum continues the "theme" approach. Our approach is dynamic and challenging. The purpose is to engage children in their own learning and to create a broader knowledge base.
Themes integrate all knowledge disciplines, provide for acquisition of reading readiness skills and foster creative problem solving and thinking skills. The Fours' class creates connections between the curriculum and the children's lives.
The class focuses on a different children's author each month along with the works of artists represented in the many museums found throughout New York City. Children are introduced to media used by artists, they observe specific works of art and they apply this knowledge within their own expressive parameters.
